Is it really Tuesday again?
This week has gone by pretty quickly. We had a very busy weekend with my daughter’s Prom on Friday night and a wedding to attend on Saturday then Mother’s Day on Sunday.
The Prom was a success from all of the accounts I’ve heard. There were 8 girls that went together, they rented a limo, had a nice meal and danced the night away before the limo driver brought all of the 8 girls to one home where they all spent the night.
My husbands cousin got married on Saturday and it was about a two hour ride to get there. The wedding was beautiful in a quaint New England Congregational church. The reception was equally as nice and we were able to catch up with family members we haven’t seen in a while. The food was pretty easy for me as it wasn’t a formal sit down type of meal. It was hors dorves. LOTS of them. I was able to have a Swedish meatball and some cheeses and I nibbled on a chicken wing that was cooked just right.
Sunday was Mother’s day, this is not one of my favorite holiday’s. As I mentioned in my last post I lost a child just before mother’s day 20 years ago, It was May 6th and it happened to fall on the Friday before Mother’s Day. We had Calling hours on Mother’s Day and the funeral the day after. That event has kind of spoiled Mother’s day for me a bit. We ended up having a pretty nice day. We went to church and then to my mom’s for dinner. She cooked a wonderful Turkey dinner and I was able to have some turkey, mashed potato’s and even a few peas. My daughter and her children were there and we spent a good part of the afternoon just lying around on a blanket in the yard playing with the baby.
Yesterday I didn’t feel so well. I’m not sure if it was from something I ate or just doing too much over the weekend. I just hung out on the sofa for most of the day. It was cold and windy out all day so it was a good place to be.
I feel much better today and I have friend coming to visit later this morning. I haven’t seen her since before the surgery so it will be interesting to see if she can tell that I have lost weight.
I have made a lot of changes in the past few months and people know that something is different but they aren’t sure what. I stopped dying my hair about 5 months ago so now it is pretty gray as apposed to blonde and I have new glasses that are very different then the old ones.
Tuesday is weigh in day so here it is. Today I weighed 287. Only two pounds down from last week but at least it is down. I have a feeling that things will start picking up soon.
